1901 Washington Avenue

Constructed about 2007, first occupants Charles Collins and David D. Singleton. Dozens of houses exactly like this were built by an investor on vacant lots in many parts of Charlotte during the mid-2000s “housing bubble” prior to the Recession of 2008.

Two story residence with vinyl siding built in a design common during the 2000s. It is long and relatively narrow, with its gable-end facing the street — a contrast to the Ranch and Cottage style dwellings nearby. There is a main clipped-gable roof and a small projecting front gabled wing that holds the garage facing the street.
